Tahoe Emergency Physicians (TEP) are vested members of this community.  In addition to providing our clinical care, we give our time in other ways as well.

Our physicians work closely with our local firefighters and EMS providers daily. We regularly give free lectures at the fire stations on a variety of topics.

Every year the South Tahoe Middle School runs a program called the Drug Store Project.  This project aims to educate young kids on the dangers of drug use and abuse.  As part of the project, (TEP) hosts a mock emergency department (ED)  scene where a child is brought in by ambulance who has overdosed. We run the code as we would do in our ED allowing the kids to see what really happens in this particular scenario.

TEP also cares about keeping this community safe and preventing ED visits.  We partner with Barton Health and volunteer our time at local sporting events and outdoor adventure races.  You will see us at the finish line or on course at events like the Lake Tahoe Marathon, America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride, Tahoe Blue Hockey games, and Lake Tahoe Community College soccer games. Please stop by and say Hello!

At the Annual Barton Festival of Trees and Lights we sponsor the Teddy Bear Hospital every year. Come watch us save some teddy bear lives!

TEP also works with the US Ski team, traveling internationally to provide medical support at races and training camps.
